INQUARTA Code of Ethics
INQUARTA is dedicated to providing the highest quality graduate school admissions advising experience to all of its clients. INQUARTA’s Code of Ethics sets forth principles for ethical conduct applicable to all INQUARTA employees and client applicants.
Employees are encouraged to use the Code of Ethics as an educational tool for working with other employees and clients of INQUARTA.
All employees, whether paid or unpaid for their work, are expected to uphold professional standards.
I. In Their Professional Capacity, INQUARTA Employees Shall:
- Maintain high standards of professional conduct.
- Follow ethical practices outlined in the Code of Ethics.
- Balance the wants, needs, and requirements of clients, institutional policies, laws, and the company. The employees’ ultimate concern must be the long-term well-being of INQUARTA’s programs and clients.
- Resist the temptation (personal, social, organizational, financial, and political) to use their influence inappropriately and refuse to allow self-aggrandizement or personal gain to influence their professional judgment.
- Seek appropriate guidance and direction when faced with ethical dilemmas.
II. In Their Professional Deportment, Employees Shall:
- Accurately represent their areas of competence, education, training, and experience.
- Recognize the limits of their expertise and confine themselves to performing duties for which they are properly educated, trained, and qualified, making referrals when situations are outside their area of competence.
- Be informed of current developments in their fields, and ensure our continuing development and competence.
- Stay abreast of laws, regulations, and policies that affect our clients.
- Stay knowledgeable about academic and collegiate events that impact INQUARTA’s clients.
- Stay knowledgeable about differences in various schools’ policies and requirements.
- Actively uphold INQUARTA’s Code of Ethics when practices that contradict it become evident.
III. In Professional Relationships, Employees Shall:
- Show respect for the diversity of viewpoints among colleagues, just as they show respect for the diversity of viewpoints among their clients.
- Refrain from unjustified or unseemly criticism of fellow employees, other programs, and other organizations.
- Use their office, title, and professional associations only for the conduct of official business.
- Uphold agreements when participating in joint activities and give due credit to collaborators for their contributions.
- Carry out, in a timely and professional manner, any INQUARTA responsibilities they agree to accept.
IV. In Relationships with Clients and Others, Employees Shall:
- Not discriminate with regard to race, color, national origin, ethnicity, sex, religion, sexual orientation, marital status, age, political opinion, immigration status, or disability.
- Demonstrate awareness of, sensitivity to, and respect for other values, beliefs, and cultures.
- Not exploit, threaten, coerce, or sexually harass others.
- Maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and security of clients’ records and of all communications with clients. Employees shall secure permission of the individuals before sharing information with others inside or outside the organization, unless disclosure is authorized by law or company policy or is mandated by previous arrangement.
- Not tolerate any form of plagiarism among their clients.
- Not accept or participate in any dishonest solicitations (e.g., influence peddling, contract cheating, essay milling).
- Not permit its clients to engage in any dishonest behavior, whether by an act of omission or commission.
V. In Administering Programs, Employees Shall:
- Clearly and accurately represent the identity of the company and the goals, capabilities, and costs of programs.
- Recruit individuals, paid and unpaid, who are qualified to offer the instruction or services promised; train and supervise them responsibly; and ensure by means of regular evaluation that they are performing acceptably and that the overall program is meeting its professed goals.
- Encourage and support participation in professional development activities.
- Strive to establish standards, activities, instruction, and fee structures that are appropriate and responsive to client needs.
- Provide appropriate orientation, materials, and continual guidance for participants.
- Take appropriate steps to enhance the safety and security of participants.
VI. In Making Public Statements, Employees Shall:
- Clearly distinguish, in both written and oral public statements, between their personal opinions and those opinions representing INQUARTA or other organizations.
- Provide accurate, complete, current, and unbiased information.
VII. In Their Relationship With INQUARTA, Clients Shall:
- Not plagiarize.
- Not solicit dishonest practices from INQUARTA employees.
- Not lie in any part of their application, nor commit dishonest or otherwise unethical acts of omission or commission in any part of their application.
- Produce their own work for all applications, including personal statements, secondaries, and other written content.
