How much weight would this story carry for me in the medical school admissions process?

August 21, 2011 by Don Osborne 1 Comment

I was born with congenital kyphosis (curvature of the spine, similar to scoliosis but bent forward not to the side), and underwent surgery at a young age to correct it. Ever since, I've been fascinated with the profession of doctors and have always wanted to go to medical school to be able to help people live better lives.

I know that medical schools consider your reasoning for wanting to be a doctor in the admissions process, and I'm curious to know how much this will help me.

Thanks!

This is a very great way to use as admissions incentive. Your best bet is to include your story in the admissions essay, really play up your story. They eat up stuff like this at admissions.
